The Role:
As an Assistant Merchandiser at Oh Polly, you will assist with the planning and execution of our product strategy. Working closely with the merchandising team, you will help ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time, maximizing sales and stock efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for fashion trends, numbers, and logistics, looking to develop within the world of merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Lead Merchandiser to develop and execute product strategies.
- Analyze sales performance to make data-driven recommendations for stock planning and forecasting.
- Assist in the management of the product lifecycle, from initial range planning through to product delivery.
- Help create and manage the OTB (Open-to-Buy) budget for all product categories.
- Review and monitor stock levels, ensuring availability across all channels while minimizing stockouts.
- Manage weekly and monthly reporting on stock performance, sales trends, and customer preferences.
- Work closely with design, buying, and operations teams to ensure smooth product launches and timely deliveries.
- Monitor and react to competitor activity, identifying key market trends and opportunities for growth.
- Provide administrative support, including order tracking, stock management, and reporting.
Skills & Requirements:
- A strong interest in fashion merchandising with a clear understanding of the retail landscape.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with merchandising tools/software (preferable but not essential).
- An eye for trends and a passion for keeping up-to-date with fashion movements.
- Previous experience in a merchandising or retail environment is beneficial, but not essential.
