The Role
We are hiring for a Product Development Manager to join our factory in Dhaka. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the entire lifecycle of clothing creation, from conception to manufacturing, to guarantee that the garments adhere to the company's exacting standards in terms of quality and style. This role requires a specific skill set, including a proven track record in the apparel industry, showcasing a mastery of diverse categories such as Corsetry, Dresses, Women's Knitwear, and Activewear.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively and work closely with any other departments to ensure development is on track in order to maintain the critical path.
- Review all tech packs received alongside the GT and PD to ensure all difficulties are communicated in the handover meeting to improve the sample accuracy.
- Closely follow up the new trim and fabric development, review and communicate with UK/LA where necessary.
- Follow up with the team to ensure air table is consistently and accurately up to date.
- Attend weekly UK catch up call, as well as instigate any meetings when necessary.
- Arrange trims and sampling for sample room as necessary.
- Follow up with the fit list daily to ensure all fits are completed, give support and allocate priorities where necessary.
- Attend fit sessions and feedback to UK GT’s with any issues as soon as possible.
- Review DPS and ensure trim card is completed before handing over approved samples to production.
- Carefully input and follow up on collection list to ensure shoot dispatch dates are correct and within the deadlines. Any issues to be raised with the production team.
- Maintain SOP for sampling and lab dips ensuring approvals are within the critical path target.
- Where necessary; review lab dips, trims and manage digital approvals.
- Review and approve bulk shades before the fabric is in housed.
- Guide and support local team with issues and confidently trouble shoot.
- Visit fabric mills and factories to identify new manufacturers/ new fabrics/new offers where possible and necessary.
- Work closely with the GT to ensure testing is correctly carried out.
- Review production samples with the GT before shipment is sent, update production on air table accordingly.
- Keep an eye on prices submitted on air table, ensuring they are reflective of the style, any abnormal increase should be investigated, while also raising to the production in UK.
Requirements:
- Significant experience (usually at least 5-6+ years) in the fast fashion or apparel industry is essential. Experience in women's fashion is particularly valuable.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop, Illustrator.
- Must have experience working with factories in Bangladesh.
- Willing to relocate to Dhaka.
