The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Chief Operating Officer to oversee the end-to-end operations of our Bromborough site. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is critical in ensuring that our warehouse, logistics, customer service, and people operations are running efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our ambitious growth plans.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to drive performance, elevate the customer experience, and ensure our operational infrastructure is scalable and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse in Bromborough, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and safety.
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes, layout optimisation, and space planning.
- Drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability across all warehouse functions.
3PL Oversight
- Manage and lead the relationship with our third-party logistics partners, including our Mexico-based fulfilment partner.
- Monitor performance KPIs, cost-efficiency, and service level agreements to ensure operational excellence.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline logistics and enhance delivery experience.
Supplier Contract Negotiation
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure favourable terms while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Ensure supplier partnerships are commercially sound and operationally reliable.
- Work cross-functionally with procurement and production teams as needed.
Customer Service & Experience
- Oversee the operational performance of the Customer Service team, ensuring service standards are met and customer experience reflects our brand values.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve resolution times, customer satisfaction, and operational workflows.
HR & Culture
- Oversee HR operations across the Bromborough site and operationally, supporting employee relations, engagement, and performance systems.
- Foster a positive and inclusive working culture aligned with Oh Polly’s values and vision.
- Ensure consistency in people practices across operational teams.
Health & Safety / Facilities Management
- Ensure all physical sites are fully compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
- Manage facilities to support smooth business operations, from equipment maintenance to space planning.
- Create and maintain a safe, productive, and legally compliant working environment.
Skills and Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in a senior operational role, ideally within eCommerce, logistics, or retail distribution.
- Hands-on experience managing warehouse teams and 3PL relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiating with suppliers and partners.
- A natural leader who can build culture, and create high-performing environments.
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, operational compliance, and people operations.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business environment.
