The Role
We’re looking for a driven and analytical Junior Merchandiser to join our Merchandising team. In this role, you’ll help deliver strong trading performance, support seasonal planning, and ensure the right product is available at the right time to maximise sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Merchandising team to achieve seasonal sales and profit targets in line with the business plan.
- Collaborate with the Buying team to build a product range aligned with customer profiles, recommending improvements to maximise sales and profit.
- Use weekly departmental performance analysis (with guidance from the Merchandiser) to take trading actions that drive sales and profitability.
- Assist in forecasting sales and intake on the departmental WSSI, proposing actions to manage risks and capitalise on opportunities.
- Work with the team to manage the intake process, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal stock levels for new collection launches.
- Own the forecasting and trading of line cards, managing the end-to-end repeats process in line with brand/category OTB.
- Prepare weekly performance reports for your department, highlighting key insights and trends.
- Deliver insightful analysis to support strategic decisions across the team and wider business.
- Contribute to range planning by producing analysis that ensures a balanced forward range aligned with top-line plans.
- Support the management of the promotional activity calendar, reviewing performance weekly and adjusting strategies to maximise sales, margin, and stock efficiency.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in a merchandising role within fashion retail or e-commerce.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Excel and working with data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to react quickly to sales performance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Organised and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about the Oh Polly brand.
