About Oh Polly
Founded in 2015, Oh Polly is a fast-growing, social first fashion brand that creates trend driven, high quality premium products. With a focus on innovation, global responsibility, and ethics. The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to join the Oh Polly / Bo+Tee business.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the overall financial performance of the business. You will work closely with the founders and senior leadership team, helping to drive growth, improve profitability and make sure the business has the right financial structure and processes in place to support its continued expansion.
This is a fast-paced fashion business with a strong international presence, including the US market, and a global supply chain across China, Dhaka and other international suppliers.
We need someone who understands how fashion businesses operate and is comfortable working across product, buying, merchandising, supply chain, logistics, e-commerce and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the finance function across the business.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
Provide clear financial information and commercial advice to the founders and senior leadership team.
Manage cash flow, working capital and overall business performance.
Oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Monitor margins, costs, stock and profitability across the business.
Work closely with Buying, Merchandising and Supply Chain teams to understand product costs and margins.
Manage financial relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and other international partners.
Understand the impact of FX, shipping, duties, freight and international payments on the business.
Support the continued growth of the US market, including understanding US sales, tax, currency and financial reporting requirements.
Work closely with the commercial and e-commerce teams to understand sales performance and profitability.
Identify opportunities to improve costs, margins and overall business performance.
Strengthen financial controls, processes and systems as the business grows.
Manage and develop the finance team.
Work with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience as a Finance Director.
Ideally experience within fashion, retail, e-commerce or another high-volume consumer business.
Fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
Strong commercial understanding rather than purely technical finance experience.
Experience working with a business selling into the US market.
Understanding of international supply chains and effect on COGs.
Strong knowledge of stock, margins, working capital and cash flow.
Knowledge of Oracle Netsuite preferable.
Good intuition and ability to make decisions quickly based on limited information.
Confident communicating with founders, directors and senior stakeholders.
Commercial, hands-on and willing to get involved in the detail when needed.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a finance team.
