Garment Tech/Quality Controller

Job description

Based in our Bromborough office and reporting to the Head of Global Production you will set up and monitor a full quality control solution throughout the supply chain and in house to quantify and improve quality standards throughout the business; including independent third-party solutions if needed.  You will ensure relevant quality tasks are achieved to all business-critical path key dates and check all received deliveries and provide inspection reports as directed.  You will be tasked to circulate audit results and quality issue reports monthly for future quality improvement.  

 

You will record and investigate customer returns, and create corrective action plans with the relevant factories. You will work with the technical team to maintain and reinforce the product quality standard required and support the PD team for development when required.  Additionally you will work with the fabric technologists to drive fabric quality in the final products and support fabric approval when required. You will liaise with the Returns department analysing  return’s queries, whist providing feedback of quality issues to suppliers for improvement. 

 

You will provide reporting to the the Head of Global Production of any recurring/quality issue trends whilst working in line with and continuously enhancing the standard operating manuals and processes to ensure consistency of approach.

 

This role will include travel to the overseas factories for quality audits and provide technical support as required.

Requirements

  • Previous Quality Control experience or alternatively a garment technical background working within fashion & textiles for a minimum of 2 years* 
  • Good level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Confident communication skills
  • Accurate and attentive to detail
  • Proactively identify and manage technical issues through effective liaison with the technical team
  • Well organised and ability to multi task and work to critical path deadlines (on own initiative and as part of a team)
  • A team player with a can do attitude
  • A good working knowledge of AQL (in the apparel industry) is essential.
  • Willingness to travel overseas - Bangladesh
